Before 2000 – Various non-technical employments including:

·  dining room staff & chef’s assistant in a sometimes very busy three star restaurant; added an Orange Souffle to the menu. One learns to do ten things at once.

·  clerical work & delivery of securities, checks and documents on Wall Street;

·  a brief period in securities (GNMA) sales; still knowledgeable in securities;

·  numerous weekends in Vermont doing carpentry;

·  extensive literary research towards a factually accurate first novel.

Spring 2013 – Certificate in Microsoft SQL Server Specialist program: completed the first course for a certificate in MS SQL-Server 2008 R2 (SQL Server Administration) with a grade of A-. Completes the second Course in Reporting Services with a B+, and completed Analysis Services with an A- in Aug 2013.

 

ADP PC Payroll: have done online training for certification in “Workforce Now”.

 

Baruch College (CCNY)

Fall 2008 - Spring 2009 -- “PayTrain” courses sponsored by the American Payroll Association. I passed the APA’s “Fundamental Payroll Certification” exam in April 2009 and passed the Certified Payroll Professional exam in Oct 2010.

2009 - QuickBooks – Access 2007 -- MS Project.

Spring 2010 – Spanish: three months (grades okay, currently on hold.)

2011 – took “Essentials of HR Systems” (sponsored by the Society for Human Resource Management) –a Pass/Fail course, but I scored 86 on the online “Post-Test”; Also took “Managerial Accounting” and “Personal Income Tax”  – received an A in both.

July 2012: Certificate from Baruch College in the Bookkeeping certificate program (two semesters bookkeeping -- basically accounting – and two semesters in Quickbooks.)

 

The “Certified Employee Benefits Specialist” program:

Group Benefits Associate program – in order, passed the three exams on 12/29/10, 06/27/11, and 09/27/11, earning me the (GBA) designation.

Retirement Planning Associate program -- Passed the 1st RPA exam 12/31/11, the 2nd exam on 03/29/12 and the third exam on 06/30/12, earning me the RPA designation.

Compensation Management Specialist – Passed the CMS1 exam 09/25/12 and the CMS2 exam 12/31/12; I now have the CEBS designation. I passed the CMS 3 exam 12/31/14 and earned the CMS designation, also obtaining the ISCEBS Fellow distinction.

 

I am ready and willing to tackle any additional professional training requirements.
